Well I am sorry to say that this is my last post for this blog. Somethings have happened in my life, and I have started changing my life, getting rid of old, doing other things.

Last month my father past away from cancer, and from them, I have just lost allot of my drive in life, and to be honest, allot of the time I just want to say f!!K it. Not really sure what is next for me, will I finally grow a pair and follow the path that God has for me, or will I just sit in the corner and cry about why is everyones life better than mine.

Here is the good news, even thou Blog Spot has been really good to me, I never could get the layout that I really wanted, so I moved over to Tumblr. You can book mark that page and continue on watching my life play out.

The high flying Ben

One afternoon, I was finally able to sit back and relax, then my phone rang. On the other side was one of my youth group kids asking if I wanted to come to his dive comp. I was excited for one that my youth group is awesome and wants me at their events, and two I have never been to a dive comp. He then told me I had 45 minuets to get there before it started. So I grabbed my camera and here are some of the shots. The only time I didn't take pictures of his dive because of a phone call, he back flopped, darn.

The kids know that when they want pictures all they have to do is ask. One of the girls in my church youth group asked me to help out with one of her school projects. So, last week she met up with me with her brother and had a awesome time working on her school project. The funny thing about my kids, they are always like, this is what I have to do with my project, what do you have in mind for pictures. This is one of the outtakes that I liked.

Again from my trip a couple weeks ago to Stanford, I was walking around and found this court yard, and this church in the court yard. I had no idea that this was here. After being here, it is by far one of the coolest churchs that I have been to.

I call this shoot, "You know I am going to take a picture, you saw me, but you still wont move out of the way, now you are going to be in it."

While I was driving up last week to Stanford, I found this place along a lake called dinosaur point. I have no real knowing why it is called that, but the water was very high that day, awesome time.

One of my favorite things to do when I go to Stanford is to go to the art museum. It is a pretty legit place, but the cool thing about the place is they have pieces of Rodin's art in the court yard. My favorite piece that Rodin ever did is called "The Gates of Hell."

The reason why I love this piece so much, (because his other work is only alright), it is also a reminder of what I will never have to see, deal with, or be afraid of. This being the Easter season, I am so thankful to Jesus for dying for my sins, and saving me from the gates of hell.

Yes, I know that it has been a long time for me to go with out posting something. I am sorry to do that. Not much really I can say, my dad has still been fighting cancer and things are different now. A couple weeks ago he resigned from being pastor at Lakeside community church for over 21 years. He has been in the hospital twice, and he is in the hospital as I type. On Monday, my Uncle drove my parents up to Stanford to get some more tests, but my dad got admitted instead. So, I had to drive the car up for my parents, and spent today walking around the Stanford campus, holy freaking awesome. That is where this shot comes from, but more on Stanford later, it is late and I still want to play some video games. More will come.......

My father has been having health problems from his battle with cancer. He is now cancer free, but the cancer did leave a big big mess. So for about the last two months I have been going to my parents house during the day to help take care of my father while my mom goes to work. His recovery has been going so slow that it seems like this is my life now, which kind of sucks, I thought I would only be there for like two weeks tops. It is not all bad as it seems, I watch awesome classic movies with my dad, and sometimes he lets me bring a kung fu movie into the mix. He has been able to get up more easily and has been encouraged to walk around more, so on a good day he was having, he walked over to the church. This happened on the only day I brought my camera last week. I have no idea what my father was think in this picture, but I like to think that this is my father sitting, and praying for the church that he loves so dear and also misses so much. In a couple of weeks (sometime around April), it is my fathers 21 years anniversary of being pastor at Lakeside Community Church.

I have been spending allot of time at my parents house looking after my father while he freaking slowly recovers from his health problems. After not even holding a camera for a long time, I decided to take it with me yesterday to shoot around the house. These wooden birds were made by my grandfather, and have been there for a long long time. Somehow seeing these birds always reminds me that I am home, and to answer your question, yes, they where used for target practice when my brothers and I first got a bb gun.

So one of the cool thing of going to shows is getting the chance to see new bands and meet new people. Nate plays for a band coming out of the great city of Bakersfield, he plays in a band called "Silence O Israel". Today I was moved by a post he did on facebook by asking for some prayer for some of my friends. This is one way that I can say thankyou for doing that.

The Parade of Religion

I haven't been to the Rose Parade in a couple years, and I decided to take my youth group. It was a fun time and everything happened like I thought it would. People got cold, tired, and had an amazing time. One thing that always intrigues me is the religious people that are there, And it seems like as the years go by, the more of them show up.

Now, I am not one to judge people on there religion, I myself am a Christian, but what makes me intrigued is the method that people use to minister to people. I just don't know how far these sign work. I tried to get pictures of this one guy held, and it read "God caused 9-11". Their were all faiths pulling out the stops last night, Christian Science was giving out free hot coco, Some kind of Budah Yoga was passing out flyers.

Now if you ask me if I had a problem with any of them, no......well there was one guy. He came up to my group and was passing out something, I asked him to stop and go to the next group. He keep passing thing out to my kids, and I asked him a little more direct to stop. He just looked up at me with a stare that said, I am going to do whatever I want. I looked at him again and told him a a loud angry stern voice, "I told you to stop and go." The sad thing was, the flyer was for some so called christian cult thing.

This past Sunday I was able to go down to Santa Barbara to visit my old church threw college. It was an awesome time seeing old friends, and being able to hang out with Gardner, who is an amazing friend from camp victory. Just a side note from the trip, I wish when you get cotton candy flavor ice cream, I wish that it would come more of a manly color, allot of people looked at me weird.

Last Thursday, my father and I went up to the bay area to spread my Grandmothers ashes. It was a very beautiful day. I had an awesome time riding threw the bay, we stopped about a mile past the golden gate bridge and spread the ashes. I will post more from the trip later, but I had fun trying to do pans.

So the good news being that a friend of mine asked if I would do her senior portraits. It was a very fun day with her, and it helped that she was very beautiful. She was an awesome girl.

So being the bad news, on this photo shoot my wide angle lens was stolen, and talking about suck. I loved that lens, it was the one that I use to shoot all my band stuff. I shot a band last night using a so-to-say regular lens (28-80) and it was just not the same. So if anyone would love to bless me with a wide angle (For Canon digital 40D), I would be very very very thankful and love to take pictures of you with it.

Homeless connect

I'd covered an event here called homeless connect, it was a pretty cool but hard event. The homeless is a hard subject to photograph. You want to get a good picture, but none of them want to get their picture taken, can you blame them, no. So I walked around and just tried to talk to as many people as possible and just talk to them, then ask if I could get a picture of them. One of the hardest things was watching the dogs, there was a vet there giving the pets some meds. One dog was so bad that the vet told the guy that the dog didn't have long to live. It was a hard event to be at but seeing the community get together was really cool.

Almost a year ago, as my brother and sister in-law where driving home from my dad's cancer surgery, he put in a cd and said its this new group called "Fun." I liked it and this Tuesday had the privilege and honor seeing them perform and being told I was allowed to take pictures. That I night I became a true fan of this band. The show was really awesome, and the amount of fun I had should be bad for your health, or cure your health. After this show my week had been ten times better.

There is this guy, we will call him Mr. P to save his identity, every time I see him he makes a comment that I don't put enough pictures with my posts. So this last weekend, we had a friend that was turning another year older and we where both there helping celebrate. It was an awesome time, big thanks go to Taylor and Bakka for the awesome party.

So as the night continues, and we are just making small talk, once again he says that I don't use enough pictures in my post. So I told him, I will do a post of just you.

Community Prayer Breakfast

On Sept 30, my dad was the guest speaker for the community prayer breakfast. From what I understand, this was a big honor for my father, he told me that they usually get someone of big importance from the community to speak. It was really cool to be there and see my father talk. Also, it was very strange just to be up before 6 in the morning.

She also said that she Asked Boney Bezzly from the Argyle Pimps to model for them. It was pretty cool, Boney and I go back some ways and it was fun to hang out with him.

Flashes in the sky

Last night as I was sitting at my desk working things, my window flashed with bright light from lightning. I ran out side to see the sky fill with bright flashes from lightning. Now this is something that really happens in the valley. So I ran back inside and grabbed my camera and went for some fun. Only to find out that all the lightning was happening all behind the clouds. Bummer. But still an awesome time taking pictures.

So one of the favorite thing that I like to do at camp is the the Archery.

This year I brought a Sabertooth doll as one of the targets. The cool thing was, allot of the kids could hit it. But only a very small amount of kids could get the arrows to stick in. I was one of them, and I think only one other kids too. Gardner was not able to make the arrow stick. HA

But I am sorry to say that it is that time of year when I head off to camp for two weeks. To be honest, I am not prepared for camp and have no idea how this year is going to go down. Also one of the things that happens every year, is watching the fireworks on the 4th. The are amazing, but when the speakers are playing Louis Armstrong "What a wonderful world." Something about that song, freaking awesome.

I hope you had a wonderful 4th, mine was really laid back and pretty cool. Once again just trying to make some abstract fire works picture. The only thing I did to the pictures was change the levels and did some saturation.

I have always found it funny when a client just says, "I love whatever you do, just do whatever and it will be fine." Darn, I mean now the pressure is on. It is much easier to give me a point to start from. But whenever I create something from nothing, it is always fun to see the end product. One of my co-workers asked if I would put together a flyer for his next battle of the bands. When I asked him what he wanted, his reply "I love whatever you do, just do something and it will be fine."

I really want to learn how to make those flyer posters.

I must say, for meeting everyone for the first time that weekend, everyone was pretty awesome. I told the actors to look tuff? I guess.

Friday night my dad called me up asking if I wanted to go to the car show in Fresno with him. I was a little scared, I am not really the car show type of person, but in these days I look forward to spending time with my dad. I hope that everyone had an amazing Easter. I also hope that I never get old to get an Easter basket. I woke up very early to go to the sunrise service, the only time a year I see the sun come up. After the service and the pancake breakfast, I walked over to my parents house to shower and get ready for church. As I walked into my old room, there was a Easter Basket waiting for me inside. Epic Fail

Last week, I was at a daycare taking pictures for their web site, it was pretty cool. It was awesome and thankful to see that God never called me to the daycare calling. But the kids were cool and some acted up for the camera. While the kids where eating, I just sat there for a second and one of the boys was having trouble getting the drink straw in his Capri-sun. So being the nice awesome man I am I offered to help. It might be good that I don't have any kids. I couldn't help but laugh watching him trying to get a drink and yes I felt real bad and stupid I don't know how to work a Capri-sun.

Cable Car goes battleing

The band that I have featured the most on the mix tape, has been some awesome friends "This Cable Cars Off Track". They have been on break since some of the members have left the band. So they got new ones (Ej, Mitch, And Nate) and played they battle of the bands, and won.

One of the cool things from the show, was that there was a touring band that played the show. They turned out to be pretty awesome guys, the band was called "Fires in the Sky". But to be honest, any band that goes to Denny's with you afterwards is pretty cool to begin with. So the guys told their record label , and the record label showed some interest. We will see what is next for Cable Car.

My brother Jon and his wife Kristin (Awesome sister in-law) just recently took the position as youth pastors at their church in Anaheim. Running water to Mike

Finally the video is up, and there is allot to tell to get this video. This video was made for Pastor Mike Reed, he has been speaking at my church while my dad has been away for his cancer treatment, and he did an amazing job. The way the joke began was one Sunday I went up for a sketch and during it I took a drink from his water. So every Sunday afterwards, during his surmons he would take a drink from his water and ask the congregation if I had done anything to it. My dad is done with his treatment and Mike has moved on to way better things. So for his last Sunday at Lakeside, I made this video.

The joke goes that from where I started running to the church is a little less than 8 miles. Now how the video ends with fading to black and still music, that is when I entered the church, it was pretty cool, I had a couple friends hype up the crowd and was a good time while I walked up to the front and put the water down.

So when Mike and I where coming up with ideas for his bands photo shoot, he came up with this idea. He wanted to re-create a famous movie poster from a movie that came out a couple of months ago. I will let you guess which one it was. I must say for a first try, I did pretty good.

The best thing that I like the most is the font, as I was doing research on the poster, I found out that the font was very very close to Times Roman. I thought a big hollywood movie would use something more than just Times Roman.

I have this amazing friend named Bakka. Tonight I was think about some of the great adventures that we have been threw. My timeline is not always the best. But more over three years ago, Bakka fell two stories and broke both of his ankles, and a long night that was. His ankles have gotten better but there was some problems with the metal they put in, so recently they took all the metal out. Bakka was over at my place and he was showing of his new scars.

Last week, someone asked if I would come to Kings county Homeless connect. It is an event where the homeless can come and get allot of help and free things. Clothing, food, Hair cuts, and medical check ups.

It was fun to see allot of people coming together to help out for a good cause.

The chinese festival

This past weekend, there where two festivals in Hanford. One of them being where people dress up as knights, and try so hard to live back in that time until their parents call on their cells phone wanting to know when to pick them up. The other festival, was the Chinese New Moon festival. It is pretty awesome because it takes place in China alley, which is a beautiful place to take pictures. With these shots, as I worked on them, it turned more into what wierd artsy things can I do to the images, for some.

The moon is full and I wanted to take pictures. So I drove out to this location to find that workers where at the place I wanted to be, darn. So I drove a little further and started.

All four of these shots where at the same time around 11 at night.
Also here are some things I learned shooting in the country at night.
- When wild coyotes howl 360 degres around you, first thing that comes to mind is not how awesome.
- The glow stick, when broken open, stinks, taste bad, and stings the eyes.
- The train that you have been waited for, comes as you are driving away.

There where no Blue Oaks

This last weekend, the Nordgren's where in town, and it was awesome. Craig, use to babysit my brothers and I about 25 years ago while we lived in Minnesota. Even tho I have no memory of it, the ones from this weekend will live on. Currently the Nordgrens are missionary's in Spain, and they are back in the U.S. for a year. While they where here, I took my youth group and the two sons to go hang out with bowling and driving around town looking for cap guns but ending up with whoopee cushions, nice. Then on Sunday, we went up to the Giant Sequoias forest and hiked up morro rock. Amazing time, and amazing people.

This last weekend, some awesome friends and I went up to the Santa Cruz mountains for "Rock on the Mount". It was pretty amazing that I was able to see some amazing friends from camp victory.

While at camp this year, it was cool to have Riley and Emily as workers up this year. One day they asked if they could use my camera to record a video. After I let them, each day that grabbed the camera and made something. So I decided to call it the Em-Ry sessions. This is not the first one that they did, it is just the first one that I compressed. Just a note, I had nothing to do with the making of it.

So last week, I went out to try and take pictures of the meteor shower. But being there was a moon out, I only saw like three shooting stars. So, my brother came out later, and we started painting with light. I am proud of my brother, he was getting into it seeing what you could do with light and a camera, action.

Camp was Awesome

Camp was amazing and awesome. The people that I worked with have become family. Speaking of family, while I was camp, I found out that my dad has stomach cancer. My younger brother and parents are going up to Stanford tomorrow for the surgery. We got good news from the doctors today, so we will see.

The fair was fair

So the Kings County fair was like a week ago I think. I went one night and as I was thinking of leaving to go home. I ran into one of my friends that I work with. He told me that his band "Born of the Sun" was playing at the battle of the bands, a show that they had at the fair, that night. It was around 7:30 when I saw him and they where going on at 10. So I thought that now I would have to sit threw some pretty bad local bands to see his, I was right. As they came on, I was a little hesitant, but they turned out to be pretty good, I hope that they won, I didn't stick around for the end.

Aaron and Holly are an amazing couple. Holly is my cousin and asked that I would come up for her wedding and do the photography for it. All I can say is that I was completely honored to be there and hanging out with some family that I don't get to see that often, it was truly a blessing. Even thou it was a very small wedding, I did something that has never happened, Aaron, the groom, picked me up from the hotel and drove me to the wedding. It was truly humbling and awesome, we where talking about geek stuff like computers and tv shows on the way there, fun times. Thank you Aaron and Holly.

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th living in a free country. We are so blessed.
I did what I wanted to do, my parents and I went to the Hanford bowl and sat with some friends and watched the fireworks. We sat with who I like the call the cool people (Vickers, Martins) and Joesph, and Roger. It was an awesome time.

Now to the pictures. There are some ways that you can shoot fire works. You can have you camera on a tripod and just shoot. Like the first picture. Or another ya that I like to do, is just hold the camera and have it on bulb setting to just record everything.

What I did for some of these as I was exposing, I zoomed in and out, to give the lines more crazyness, is what you might call it. I was just going nuts, trying different things.

To be honest, when ever I see fireworks I am reminded of that scene in "The sandlot" when they are trying to play a night game. But they can't because they always stop to watch the fire works. I wanted to shoot, but I found myself just stopping and watching the awesome show.

Only read this is you want to know the truth about professional wrestling. Not really the truth, just stuff.

Well, there is not much to tell about it, if you are into it, you should go, you most defiantly get your moneys worth, The event was 4 hours long.

I never thought about much about wrestlers, they run around and it is all planed out. But here is the kicker, they film these events for the shows every week. So they film about three weeks worth of events, so this one fighter fought three times. It was weird to see a fighter talk about last weeks fight, when in all reality, it happened 30 minuets ago.

The Crow came out in 94'

So Monday as I was on lunch from Jury Duty, I was driving back while the radio dj said I could win if I could figure out what year these things where involved with. I listened to them not knowing, then he said, "and last, this year the movie The Crow came out." So I called not thinking that I would get threw, the phone picked up and I said 94'. I won tickets to the WWE smackdown in Fresno last night. I use to be into wrestling when I was allot younger, but now, more into other things. It was a fun time and the whole event lasted 4 hours. I will write more on later posts.
